The Fondation Louis Vuitton, in collaboration with New York's MoMA, and Copenhagen's SMK - Statens Museum for Kunst, hosts the exhibition "Matisse, L'Atelier rouge", devoted to the genesis and history of this famous 1911 masterpiece, one of MoMA's signature works since its acquisition in 1949. The exhibition features a representation of Matisse's studio, as well as the paintings, sculptures and decorative objects it contains. For the 1st time, the exhibition brings together the works present in L'Atelier rouge since they left Matisse's studio in Issy-les-Moulineaux. It is also enriched by previously unpublished archive documents and works that shed light on the context of creation and the adventure of this painting.
